Egyptian Pipeline Fire Cuts Gas to Israel, Jordan

A gas leak in terminal in northern Sinai Egypt caused a fire that could be seen for 40 miles and shut down natural gas deliveries to Israel and Jordan.

The fire near the coastal city of El Arish was originally thought to be the work of saboteurs exploiting the political crisis in Egypt, but officials soon said that a gas leak was to blame. The fire was extinquished within hours.

Israel and Jordan have said that it will be able to acquire alternate energy supplies.
